FAQs…

Where will the money go?

All funds will be used to develop, produce and market “Five Year Grandma” as an educational tool for teachers to tackle racism in schools around the country.

We aim to create change that shows our younger generation that they are all connected and that no matter what their cultural background, they don’t need to feel ashamed or ostracise their culture to be Australian.

How much can I donate?

Most will range from $50 (half a tank of petrol) to $150 (night out for two).

Anything above $2 for Australian residents is tax deductible.

Every dollar counts and we are sincerely appreciative of your support.

What happens if we don't meet the donation target?

Every dollar counts because this is not like an ordinary crowdfunding campaign where all funds are lost if you don’t meet the target. All funds will go towards making the documentary and developing the social impact campaign.

The greater the amount we raise, the more interest we can show that the market place and audience (you) are interested in getting this wonderful documentary made. We will be able to show this to the screen funding bodies and other organisations that want to contribute or partner with us.

Can my organisation or I make large philanthropic donations and claim as a tax deduction?

Yes, as long you don’t stand to financially gain from the project. You cannot be in an equity position as an owner of the film (ie this is not investment, it is a gift with no promise of financial return).

Can I make a donation via direct deposit?

Yes. Please download, fill out this form below and send to Documentary Australia Foundation.

Has this documentary already been shot?

No. The trailer is from existing photos and videos Ravi had.

Five Year Grandma will be shot in Fiji and Melbourne, Australia using Black Magic cameras for a truly cinematic experience. Even though we will prepare our research well in advance, we will shoot footage as we uncover evidence and history.

If you’d like to see what our footage will look like, click on “The Crew” and scroll down the wonderful work of our cinematographers.
